Terms of Service

Effective date: April 2026

1. Welcome to FásCliste

FásCliste is an Irish Leaving Certificate study platform. These Terms explain how you may use the FásCliste website, web app, study tools, AI features, subscriptions, and related services.

By creating an account, starting a trial, buying a subscription, or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use FásCliste.

FásCliste is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the State Examinations Commission, the Department of Education, or any exam authority.

2. Who can use FásCliste

FásCliste is designed for Leaving Certificate students. If you are under 16, you may use the platform only with permission from a parent or guardian. If a parent or guardian sets up, pays for, or supervises an account, they are responsible for helping the student use it safely and lawfully.

We may refuse, suspend, or close an account if we reasonably believe the account is unsafe, unauthorised, fraudulent, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.

3. Your account

  • Use accurate account information and keep your login details private.
  • Use one account for yourself only. Do not share, sell, transfer, or resell access.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
  • Do not try to bypass subscription, security, usage-limit, or payment controls.

If you request account deletion, we may first deactivate the account and then schedule account cleanup after 30 days. Some records may need to be kept where required for tax, billing, security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

4. What the service provides

FásCliste may include subject pages, topic summaries, notes, scanned-note tools, quizzes, flashcards, study planning, tutor-style questions, oral practice, AI feedback, predicted papers, downloadable materials, and progress tracking. Features may vary by subject, plan, availability, language support, usage limits, and device capability.

We aim to keep the platform useful and reliable, but study content can change, AI features can be unavailable, and mistakes can happen. FásCliste is a study aid, not a replacement for your teacher, textbook, school guidance, or official State examination material.

5. Plans, trials, and billing

  • FásCliste may offer a free plan, a time-limited trial, Student features, Genius features, and usage-limited tasters.
  • Trial access starts when the account is created, lasts exactly 10 calendar days, and is limited to one trial per person.
  • Paid plans are subscription services. You should not be charged twice for the same active plan; if you already have a plan, your available actions should be to manage it, upgrade, downgrade, reactivate, or cancel where available.
  • Stripe is our billing provider and the source of truth for payment status. Local account access is updated from verified Stripe events.
  • Some changes may apply immediately and some may apply at the end of the current billing period, depending on the plan change and Stripe billing rules shown at checkout or in the billing portal.

Prices, billing periods, plan features, renewal dates, cancellation choices, and any taxes are shown during checkout or in your account/billing portal. You are responsible for checking those details before confirming payment.

You can cancel a paid subscription through your account where available. Unless the checkout or billing portal says otherwise, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period and access continues until then.

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law, including your statutory cancellation rights and your rights if the service is faulty, unavailable, or not as described.

If you request immediate access to a paid plan during the 14-day cancellation period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service already supplied before cancellation.

If a payment was made by mistake, by a parent or guardian, or by a minor without appropriate permission, contact us promptly and we will review it fairly. Nothing in these Terms removes your statutory consumer rights.

6. Acceptable use

FásCliste is for personal study. Please use it in a way that is fair to other students, safe for the platform, and respectful of exam and school rules.

  • Do not upload, submit, or generate illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, or harmful content.
  • Do not submit personal information about another person unless you have a proper reason and permission.
  • Do not attack, scrape, spam, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform.
  • Do not use FásCliste to cheat in a live exam, impersonate another person, or misrepresent AI-generated work as your own where that would break school or exam rules.
  • Do not use the service to build a competing database, copy protected content at scale, or commercially exploit the platform without written permission.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the answers, notes, recordings, transcripts, uploads, messages, and other content you submit. You give FásCliste a limited permission to host, process, display, save, analyse, and transmit that content only as needed to provide the service, protect the platform, comply with law, and support your account.

You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, and do not include unnecessary personal information about yourself or others.

8. AI study tools

Some FásCliste features use AI to generate explanations, feedback, summaries, predicted papers, quiz material, oral-practice support, and tutor-style responses. AI is used to support learning; it does not make official exam decisions.

  • AI content can be useful, but it can also be incomplete, simplified, outdated, or wrong.
  • AI feedback is not an official State Examinations Commission decision and does not guarantee any mark, grade, college place, or exam outcome.
  • Always check important study material against official resources, your teacher, your textbook, and your class notes.
  • Do not include unnecessary personal, sensitive, or confidential information in prompts, answers, notes, recordings, uploads, or contact forms.
  • We may limit, refuse, or suspend AI features where needed for safety, security, misuse prevention, cost protection, or legal reasons.

9. FásCliste content and intellectual property

The platform, design, software, study materials, question structures, generated templates, summaries, brand assets, and other FásCliste content are owned by or licensed to FásCliste. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the platform for your own study.

You may not copy, publish, scrape, sell, redistribute, or commercially exploit FásCliste content or platform features without written permission, except where mandatory law allows.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who helps us provide the service, how long we keep data, and what rights you have.

11. Service availability and changes

We may improve, change, pause, remove, or replace parts of the service. We try to avoid disruption, but we may need to act quickly for security, reliability, legal, provider, or platform reasons.

We do not promise that FásCliste will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, school network, or third-party service.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close access if you breach these Terms, create safety or security risks, misuse AI features, abuse usage limits, fail to pay, attempt payment fraud, or use the service in a way that could harm other users or the platform.

Where reasonable, we will explain the issue and give you a chance to contact us. We may act without notice where needed to protect users, minors, data, payment systems, or the platform.

13. Responsibility and consumer rights

We provide FásCliste with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Irish or EU consumer law, or excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect loss, loss of opportunity, loss caused by relying only on AI output, school or exam decisions, or exam outcomes. Your results depend on many factors outside FásCliste.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, law, pricing, providers, or safety requirements change. If a change is important, we will give reasonable notice in the app, by email, or both where appropriate.

If you continue using FásCliste after updated Terms take effect, the updated Terms will apply. If you do not agree, you should stop using the service and cancel any paid subscription before the change applies.

15. Irish law and contact

These Terms are governed by Irish law. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you still keep any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@fascliste.com. Privacy requests should be sent to data@fascliste.com.

By using FásCliste, you agree to these Terms. See also our Privacy Policy.
